DJ QUIK AND AMG FORM NEW SUPERGROUP

Legendary producer and rapper DJ Quik and AMG recently formed a new super group called the Fixxers. The duo have been performing together up and down the west caost and they recently released their debut single, “Can U Wrk Witdat?” The song was featured on an episode of HBO’s Entourage and will be included on the duo’s forthcoming album, The Midnite Life, which will be released through Interscope Records.

Quik explained why the two decided to form a group. He said, “It was a no-brainer. It was a meeting of the minds. We agree on some things and we disagree on others but we see eye to eye on this. We had talked about doing a production company, and once we were head set on being a team, the record was [basically] in the wings. A team yields higher results than individuals.”

“I always chose to be a producer. I was always a producer cause I used to do mix tapes and put the homies to beats, you know what I mean? But I knew that being a producer, I had a little more longevity. I just felt, you know what I mean? I mean I was watching the whole artist thing, like I was watching artist like come and go. But then certain producer just stay around forever. You know what I mean? They just evolve.”

Quik, who released his debut platinum album, Quik is The Name, in 1991, explained that being a producer has been the key to his longevity. He said,
