SLIPKNOTS JOEY JORDISON JOINS KORN FOR FAMILY VALUES TOUR

Korn announced that Joey Jordison will be taking over behind the kit for the bands upcoming Family Values Tour and European Festival dates.

KoRn has announced that Joey Jordison will be the bands guest drummer on their upcoming Family Values Tour this summer as well as European Festival shows which begin in June and July. Jordison, best known for being the explosive drummer for the ground breaking multi million album selling band from Iowa, Slipknot, takes over on the kit for the departed Terry Bozzio. Bozzio, took over for original drummer David Silveria who is currently on a ‘hiatus’ from the band.

We caught up with KoRn at the bands Family Values Tour Kickoff Party at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery to discuss Jordison, who is revered around the world for being one of the most skilled metal drummers touring today.

“(Davis) He’s an amazing drummer. His skill and I don’t know. (Fieldy) And he looks cool and he has long hair and most drummers don’t. Yeah this is true. We don’t know yet cause we haven’t jammed with him yet, but we’re going to do that this weekend.”

Terry Bozzio, who is best known for playing drums for Frank Zappa, recorded the drum tracks for KoRn’s upcoming 8th studio album but won’t be touring with the band. We asked lead vocalist, Jonathan Davis about what happened with Bozzio, who was earlier reported to be touring with the band this summer.

“Things just didn’t work out. He’s on the album and we had a great time working with the guy. He needed to go do his thing and it’s all good.”

So how long with Joey be a part of KoRn?

“For a couple of tours and then he’s going back and Slipknot’s doing a record. But for this time, it’s going to be fun.”

A statement released from Joey Jordison said, “I’m lucky to have had the opportunity to perform with bands that have influenced me as a musician over the years. When I first heard KoRn they blew me away and I’ve been a fan ever since. I’m looking forward to playing drums with these guys for the next five months!” The Family Values Tour will feature co-headliners KoRn and Evanescence along with Flyleaf, Atreyu, Hellyeah (members of Pantera and Mudvayne), Trivium, Neurosonic and Droid. Tickets for The Family Values Tour go on sale April 28th and the tour kicks off July 20th in Missouri and extends until September 2nd in California. KoRn are also in the final stages of recording their 8th studio album. The album, which is currently untiltled as of press time is set for a July 24th release.
