Rapper Chingy has decided to get back down with Ludacris and his Disturbing Tha Peace label. Chingy, who is signed to Capitol Records, parted ways with the company in 2004 after his multi-platinum debut, Jackpot. At the time, the rapper was also managed by Disturbung Tha Peace co-CEO Chaka Zulu. Chingy went public with allegations of some financial mismanagement of his funds. |
Following the allegations, Ludacris vowed never to work with Chingy again. He said, This is the first time we hear about his accusations in a tabloid or through different media outlets, so all respect is lost. He keeps saying it’s cool. It’s not cool. … It’s completely over. … We don’t want anybody representing the crew who’s gonna make false accusations like that. We have no respect for this individual, basically.” |
“Rest of this year man, actually some thing real big is gonna be going on. I can’t really tell you too much about it but when yous ee it, you’ll be familiar with it. And a lot of people are gonna be talking about it but I’mma let you see it. I ain’t gonna tell you too much. But just know it’s gonna big. It’s hip hop related. The two men have since resolved their differences and recently Chingy hinted that the reconcilation was in the works. He said, |
Chingy has released two albums, 2004’s platinum Powerballin’ and 2006’s Hoodstar, since leaving DTP. The rapper recently recorded some material with DTP and will be featured on the label’s upcoming compilation titled, Strength In Numbers. |
In related news, female rapper Shawnna has left DTP after releasing two solo albums. |
