BEYONCE AND JENNIFER HUDSON DREAMGIRLS DANCE TO DVD
Find out what treats the anniversary edition of An Officer And A Gentleman has in store. |
The special collector’s edition DVD of An Officer And A Gentleman celebrates the 25th anniversary starring Richard Gere as officer candidate Zack Mayo who learns discipline at the hands of academy award winner drill sergeant Lou Gossett, Jr. and falls for Officer digger Debra Winger also nominated for her performance. |
Gere almost didn’t recognize his much younger self when he came across a late night viewing of the classic film. |
“I remember being jet lagged one night. I don’t know where I was, some place in Europe. I checked into the hotel, couldn’t sleep, turned on the tube and it wasn’t that long ago and I kind of recognized what was on the screen. Oh my God, that’s me. That’s Officer and A Gentleman. Wow, and I did watch the whole movie. And it was a really well made film, I mean all the way around, top to bottom.” |
Gere recalls how the iconic phrase I’ve Got Nowhere to Go came about while he was being drilled by Gossett, Jr. |
“And it just comes out of him like a howl of an animal. So I knew where I was going with that. And it made easier because of the physicality of the scene. Certainly those things if they’re not just cerebral they’re happening within, something that your blood is moving and you’re in extremis which certainly we were in that day doing that, those exercises all day long.” |
