Shadow’s Fall has been added as the main headliner for the Sounds Of The Underground tour, which will kick off July 6 in Dallas, Texas. Although the tour will feature one-off appearances by Lamb Of God and Hatebreed among others, the festival’s core will also feature GWAR, Chimaira, Job For A Cowboy, and Every Time I Die. |
Shadow’s Fall will be out promoting their new album Threads Of Life, and the band says they’ve spread their wings a bit for the new effort. |
[Brian Fair] “Yeah, well we stay involved in every part of it. One of the reasons of switching to a major label is we do want to try to make some inroads into commercial doors that had been closed to a more indie world. So to not take advantage of that would be silly, but at the same time whether it was edits or choices or whatever we had to be involved from the beginning. Trying to cut someone’s guitar solo or drum fill can get a little hectic. We know there’s time constraints there’s things like that, and we tend to write longer songs, so… and there are a few songs… A song like ‘Final Call’ would have been a great single, but it’s like seven minutes and there’s no way to edit it any way it was going to work without completely ruining the song. So we didn’t even bother, whereas a song like ‘Redemption’ there was a few little tweaks we could make that really did make sense and kind of was a whole new version. You know?” |
The band’s first track, “Redemption,” is Number One at Metal radio and the song is currently in the top 5 ads for the Active Rock radio format. Shadow’s Fall is currently on the Jagermeister tour with Stone Sour and Lacuna Coil, and that wraps up May 4 in Des Moines, Iowa. |
