ROB LOWE LOSES SIGHT OF WHAT REALLY MATTERS
Rob Lowe plays a man who jeopardizes everything he loves for fame and fortune in A Perfect Day. |
Rob Lowe finds out the true meaning of balancing fame, fortune and family this holiday season in A Perfect Day airing tonight on TNT. Rob stars as an author who gets to pursue his lifelong dream of writing a bestseller when he is suddenly fired from his job. But in the process he begins to lose sight of what matters most in his life. |
Being a family man himself and the father of two, Rob says he can relate to his character’s shame of not being the proper provider. |
“That and the sort of humiliation of not being the bread winner that he wanted to be, is really devastating both to him and all the relationships in his life. And then he literally has this dream come true and gets fame and fortune and validation as a writer, as an artist. And goes on that amazing ride that some of us are lucky enough to get in our lifetimes and it’s an amazing ride but there’s a huge dark side to that if you let yourself be wooed and he falls into that.” |
That dark side is a mysterious stranger played by Christopher Lloyd who gives him a disturbing prophecy hoping to wake him up to realize how much he’s lost. Rob says the most devastating loss could be his wife played by Paget Brewster. |
“My character is desperately in love with his wife Allison and vice versa. And for that to be put into the kind of jeopardy that is does is really wrenching I think in the script. I really love that part of the writing. It’s handled incrementally because great love affairs don’t go south overnight. It’s sort of an incremental process and I think that’s really captured pretty well by the movie. It’s gonna be painful I think and people are gonna route for them.” |
A Perfect Day airs tonight at 8PM on TNT. |
