REV RUN LANDS BOOK DEAL

Run-DMC’s Reverend Run has landed a book deal for his daily motivational thoughts. The rapper ends every episode of his popular reality show, Run’s House, with his words of inspiration and he has been sending them via e-mail to people like Sean “Diddy” Combs and Serena Williams for the past two years. Recently Rev Run signed a book deal with Harper Collins’s Amistad division for his new book, Rev. Run’s Words Of Wisdom, which will hit stores in April.

Rev Run shared how he doesn’t really plan what’s next but rather allows the spirit to guide him. The rapper said,

“It’s important, very important to stay humble. So I have no other choice but to be thankful to God and then you know ask for instruction. What else am I hear for God? Jay is gone and what am I suppose to do? Again I get a pat on the back, and they say you was great and you know you got a new show coming. It’s like, ‘Wow this is fun.’ Then God says, ‘You have something else to do right now. I want you on the battle grounds in Iraq.’ I’m like I guess I got to do that. Whatever I got to do, I got to do it. I just want to please God. I guess I’m here for a reason to do things so if he says, ‘I want you still rapping.’ Oh okay. You know, “I want you to own a little church in Hollis,’ oh okay. So I’m very obedient to the spirit to find out what I’m here for and he’s showing me more and more. So I got some things that I’m excited about.”
