SPRINGSTEEN JOKES NEBRASKA PROJECT GOT IT WRONG
***Audio is not broadcast quality, use at your discretionrnrnLast month songwriters and musicians got together to tribute Bruce Springsteen’s highly influential album, Nebraska, and the boss himself made a surprise visit. Mark Eitzel, Living Color’s Vernon Reid, and Martha Wainwright were among those playing songs at the show, when Springsteen showed up for a version of Woody Guthrie’s “Oklahoma Hills.” |
After the performance the MC of the night asked the boss what he thought of the tribute and the performance of the tunes off Nebraska, and he joked that the musicians just got it wrong. |
“A lot of the interpretations of the songs, the way you were talking about them were wrong. The songs were written, as I said about all rock and roll, to get women to pull their pants down.” |
Springsteen is not afraid to make secret and surprise appearances. He usually shows up every year for the Stone Pony benefit show, Light Of Day. |
