EDDIE GRIFFIN FOOLED BY EDDIE MURPHY’S MASTER AT DISGUISE

Eddie Griffin teams up with Oscar nominee Eddie Murphy in Norbit playing a former pimp Pope Sweet Jesus who owns the local rib shack.

Murphy is such a master of disguise that Griffin says he was fooled on the first day of shooting when he was sitting next to Mr. Wong.

“One of the craziest days was day one because I’m sitting next to this Chinese guy. And the Chinese guy is like, ‘I’m very nervous it’s the first time on film.’ I was like mad dog relax just be yourself. The director calls and says Mr. Murphy we’re ready for ya! It was Eddie. Eddie turns around and was like, ‘gotcha!’ Yeah that’s how good he is in that character. You couldn’t tell and I’m right up on him.”

Griffin was overwhelmed by the girth of Murphy’s alter ego, the very healthy Rasputia who loves her supersized dinners.

“Rasputia, this large woman you see behind me on the poster. I mean he did that so well everybody thought it was a large chick. That’s passed my weight class. I don’t think I could hold all that.”

Next Eddie reprises his role in Undercover Brother 2 but wouldn’t divulge top secret information about the plot.
