CHEAP TRICK, DALTREY, DEAD DRUMMER HIGHLIGHT FANTASY CAMP
Rock And Roll Fantasy Camp was held in Los Angeles this weekend, making it a three-day event thanks to Presidents Day in the U.S.. Rock And Roll fans came from all over to jam with and take classes with some of their favorite artists. Roger Daltrey of The Who, Mickey Hart of the Grateful Dead, and Cheap Trick were the big stars for the camp. |
The House Of Blues was the final destination for the all-star jam, but lectures were given during the day. Hart told campers what he thinks they’ll get from participating in the camp. |
“After you’re finished with this camp you’ll probably be feeling really good. So what I really would like you to do is remember the feeling, because this is what this is all about — feeling. Anybody can learn technique. That’s the least of it. Most of it is the passion and the feeling, and then take that feeling, take it out in the world, and do good with it. So your fantasies can be very helpful to your families to yourself or to do good things in the world.” |
Hart shared that instilling passion is what the Grateful Dead aimed for, and they wanted the U.S. Government to help them. |
“That’s what we always thought as a band. We always thought, ‘Gee we’re doing a public service. We were really serving. We always thought that. We actually thought we should be subsidized by the government.” |
The Rock And Roll Fantasy Camp also features Neal Schon of Journey, Elliot Easton of The Cars, and Mark Farner of Grand Funk Railroad. This was the fifth installment of the popular camp, which has become an annual event. |
