MORE OF JAY MOHR IN THE GROOMSMEN

You’ll see more of funny man Jay Mohr who stars in The Groomsmen as the cousin of Edward Burns who is having troubles with letting go of his own failed relationship to his neighborhood sweetheart. The Saturday Night Live alumnus got out of shape to play the role of the Irish Guido who has a fondness for beers.

You can’t help feel sorry for cousin Mike who is constantly being rejected by the woman he loves. Jay talks about how his accent helped to shape the character.

“Cousin Mike is Ed Burns and Donal Logue’s cousin, hence cousin Mike. I’m kind of like a Guido, like an Irish Guido with like a heart of gold and a pot belly. I got fat belly, a fat belly, I should be grammatically correct, and when I was doing this movie I realized I could use it to my advantage. So now I tell people it’s for a part.”

Speaking of voices Jay provides the voice to the new X Box video game Scarface The World is Yours as part of Manny Ray’s crew voiced by the original Scarface star Steven Bauer. rnrn

“When I was reading the script like the third time and I came to the voice that I use for cousin Mike like this guy who tawks like dis all the time. Then I realized that all the lines that were ordinary became sort of tender. He really became like a sweet guy underneath.”
