GHOST RIDER GUYS FOND OF PETER FONDA
The male cast of Ghost Rider was especially impressed to work with Peter Fonda. |
Ghost Rider star Peter Fonda no doubt gave one of the coolest performances of his career as Captain America in Easy Rider. Nicolas Cage says it was inspired casting to hire Fonda as Mephistopheles, the demon cyclist. |
Cage credits Fonda for his love of motorcycles |
“It was a remarkable experience because I grew up watching Easy Rider and I in fact became a motorcyclist because of Easy Rider so it was a bit strange because there was Captain America himself and we’re doing this scene where he’s trying to get me to sell my soul to the devil. And I’m thinking to myself, ‘he’s the perfect choice’ because if you’re gonna get a stunt cyclist to do that who better than Easy Rider himself, the man himself.” |
Wes Bentley stars as Blackheart, Mephistopheles even more evil son who undermines his devilish dad. |
“It’s a blast working with Fonda because he’s like the legend. He’s an icon and on top of it he’s personally a funny guy and he’s got a lot to say but always entertaining. To be sitting there playing opposite him and both of us playing the two most evil beings there was is surreal in the moment. I’m attached to him in that way is kind of fun.” |
Fonda who has only seen his classic film Easy Rider twice in his lifetime held a private screening of the film for the cast and crew narrating behind-the-scenes personal anecdotes. |
