C SIDE GET CAREER BOAST FROM JOKE
Atlanta-based trio C-Side, which consists of Kenny Kold, Gator, and Bo Q, were playing around when they recorded their hit “Myspace Freak” featuring Jazze Pha. The record has become a bonafide hit and landed the group a single deal with 17.20 Records through the Peachtree Music Group. Group member Kenny Kold explained how it went down, |
C-Side, which stands for Creative-Superb-Individuals-Doing-Entertainment, will release their self-titled debut album next year. The group has already released a second single, “Fresh Like New Draws.” |
“Yeah pretty much cause it wasn’t even a serious attempt to really get a song that was out there, you know what I’m sayin’? You know when we made that song, we did that song for a joke and it just exploded the first day it went on, you know what I mean? And Jazze Pha heard it and it took off after that cause he added his two cents and it became a full dollar.” |
Kold also had a special message for people who want to dismiss the group as a novelty act. He said, |
“For those that question the credibility of C-Side and you think that’s a novelty record, think again. You also need to check out that Myspace page cause we got the mixtape on there. If you didn’t hear on the street that we already sold 60,000 units, it ain’t because of novelty records. We’ve been doing this since 2001. We’ve been spitting. If you got a problem with us, bring it to us and we’ll grill that beef. You understand that?” |
