BLUE OCTOBER OVERLOOKED FOR GRAMMY?
Many Blue October fans agree that their latest album Foiled was their best album, but the name says it all when it comes to the Grammys. |
Blue October’s latest album, Foiled, may have summed up their Grammy Award aspirations. Despite being hailed as the band’s best work and their single “Hate Me” crossing over to the CHR charts, the band didn’t receive one nomination for this weekend’s Grammy Awards. |
Vocalist Justin Furstenfeld said that he’s beyond the point in caring what others think about his music. |
“I’m kind of at the point in my life where I’ve been doing this so long I could care less, you know. I’didn’t… I make music for myself and for the audience and I don’t really read that kind of stuff, you know what I mean? It’s hard enough to stay focused in my own life much less hear somebody else’s opinion on what they think about me.” |
In fact, Blue October will be at Minneapolis, Minnesota’s First Avenue rocking the crowd as the Grammys are taking place in Los Angeles. The band recently partnered with MTV-U and The Jed Foundation to bring awarness to the problem of mental health in college students for the Half Of Us initiative. It’s based on a recent report said that at one time or another at least half of all college students were so depressed they “couldn’t function.” |
