ROBIN WRIGHT PENN UNNERVED PLAYING AUTISTIC MOTHER

Robin Wright Penn was unnerved by playing an autistic mother in Breaking and Entering having two healthy children at home.

Robin Wright Penn plays the mother of an autistic child in Breaking and Entering whose special challenges affect her relationship with live-in boyfriend Jude Law.

Robin says she sympathized with her character who had to sacrifice her own needs to tend to her child’s unique behavior.

“I just can’t even imagine. It takes all of your focus and energy that you give up your relationship with your mate and yourself you give up because you don’t have a choice. And I think that is isolating in of itself. It would isolate you. Forget what your dysfunction is with your spouse; I think it just exemplifies it you know.”

The mother of two children with husband Sean Penn just wanted to hug her own kids after shooting some of the difficult scenes with the young actress who plays her autistic child.

“Yeah I mean I’ve always done that. I’ve always been there with my kids. Thank God I don’t have that regret. Yeah, it’s huge.”

Next Robin stars in the much anticipated Hounddog featuring 13 year old Dakota Fanning in the controversial story about a troubled girl who finds solace in Elvis Presley’s music.
