REMY MA, SHAWNNA, AND JACKI O FORM SUPER GROUP

Female rappers Remy Ma, Shawnna, and Jacki-O have formed a super group and they plan on releasing an album this spring. A source told Allhiphop.com, “They have been recording tracks over the past month, Jacki-O has been in New York, Shawnna and Remy have been in Miami. The album is going to define all three of them and the material is going to speak for itself.”

The trio hasn’t decided on a name yet and there’s still some legal issues to be resolved as they’re all signed to different labels. Remy Ma is signed to SRC Records, Shawnna is signed to Def Jam Records through Ludacris’ DTP and Jacki O is signed to TVT Records through Poe Boy Entertainment.

“That’s my whole problem from the beginning. I never….Everybody used to tell me, ‘Yo you got to be the next Kim. You got to be the next Foxy. You got to be the next Eve.’ I just felt like why I want to be the next them when I can be the first me. Like I’mma do me and I’mma do it how I want. It may take longer or I may have to go through extra obstacles to get what I want but I’mma do it the way I want. I feel like if I got to dress a certain way for somebody to accept my music, I really don’t want that person as a fan anyway. Like to me if you gonna accept me, you gonna accept me as me, and that’s it.”

The project will be unique in that each rapper will bring their own individual style to the group. Remy Ma explained that although many people asked her to switch things up in the beginning she always planned to stick to being Remy Ma. She said,
