CLUE INTO THE PRESTIGE ON DVD
The Prestige is currently on DVD revealing some of the film’s trickery. |
The Prestige starring Hugh Jackman and Christian Bale as dueling magicians in the Victorian era in London is now available on DVD. Their rivalry escalates into a battle of uncovering one another’s tricks and finding out their secrets. |
Hugh says it’s an ideal movie to watch over and over again as new clues to the mystery will reveal themselves. |
“The Prestige is an ideal movie to watch on DVD because it’s one of those movies that people talk about afterwards for a long time. Did you see this? Did you see that? But what about this? Not only clues and so on but really what the movie is about. So it’s a movie you’ll end up stopping and ah, there’s a clue, you know. It’s almost like a bit of who done it Agatha Christie in a way because there are clues laid in there but the real trick of the movie is in the story, it’s in the plot. So every time you watch it you’ll see different layers to the trick.” |
Christian Bale talks about the scenes you’ll want to dissect but refused to divulge what they are to maintain the movie’s mystery. |
“There’s gonna be some humorous ones in this one and unfortunately I can’t really say exactly what those ones are. There is a great mystery that is essential for us to maintain in doing these interviews. I think it’s inevitable once people see it that they will have the same curiosity about those scenes I’m talking about and they’ll know what they are by that time to go back and reassess with better informed eyes.” |
Extras on the DVD feature Scarlett Johansson the woman who came between them discussing her early 19th century costumes. Director Christopher Nolan and Bale reveal how they tried to deceive the audience through trickery and the story behind the scientist Tesla who was portrayed by David Bowie in the film. |
