WOLFMOTHER TO KEEP IT HEAVY ROCK ON NEXT ALBUM?
Wolfmother continues their tour, but the band is contemplating the follow-up to their debut album at the same time. |
Wolfmother is currently touring the world in support of their self-titled debut album, but that didn’t stop vocalist/guitarist Andrew Stockdale from looking ahead to the next album. The band’s sound is a mix between psychedelic rock and furious Hard Rock that could pass for early metal. |
Stockdale didn’t give an indication of when the album would be recorded, but he said the band will probably stick to their winning formula. |
“For the next record I’d just say we just continue to do what we’re doing what we’re doing at the moment — exploring different songs, but with the same style.” |
The talented guitarist and singer said that he’d like to be a bit more straight forward on the hard rock on the next effort. |
“Yeah, I think basically like, my whole, my mission statement with Wolfmother was let’s do another ten songs like ‘Woman’ (laughs). That was my mission statement because I thought I just want to do rock and roll and I don’t want to fluff around the edges with too much diversity in style. We’re a band, we have our own style and we have our own sound and that’s what all the bands are looking for.” |
Wolfmother has been nominated for Breakthrough International Artist at this year’s Brit awards, which takes place on February 14. The band kicked off a tour of the UK starting on Saturday, February 3. Stockdale and company will follow that with stops in Holland, Germany, Denmark, Norway, Canada, and then to the US and then back to their native Australia. |
