2006 BREAKOUT BAND OF THE YEAR – 30 SECONDS TO MARS
Red Hot Chili Peppers are the band of the year for 2006 thanks to their masterpiece Stadium Arcadium. |
Red Hot Chili Peppers took 2006 by storm with one of the most anticipated albums of the year. The band took home countless MTV Video Music Awards, and between the album, the single “Dani California” and producer Rick Rubin, this effort has notched seven Grammy nominations. The most distinguished of the bunch is the coveted Album Of The Year. |
Red Hot Chili Peppers guitarist John Frusciante told us earlier in the year that he was proud of the band’s work. |
“Just a lot of variety, different styles of music, and we sound much more like a band now than we did on the last album. It’s much more [full of] all kinds of dynamics and stuff. It’s good music.” |
Stadium Arcadium is an ambitious double album, and vocalist Anthony Kiedis said that the band was simply inspired. |
“It’s unpredictable. When the spirit moves you, you try to be there to let it do what it wants to do. We got lucky. We got twenty eight, and we liked ’em and put them on the record. Let the chips fall where they may.” |
Stadium Arcadium debuted at Number One all around the world, and so far it’s spawned the tracks “Dani California,” “Tell Me Baby,” and “Snow (Hey Oh).” The band will be energized in 2007 with a high profile tour with Gnarls Barkley. |
