JULIETTE LEWIS LICKS ACTING?
Juliette Lewis & The Licks are out supporting her new album You’re Speaking My Language, and the band just arrived back in the United States after heading to Iceland for a festival. Lewis played New York City’s Bowery Ballroom on Sunday night (October 23) as part of her run of dates in the east. |
Lewis, who is a very well recognized and accomplished actor, told us she’s spending less time on the silver screen and more time on the stage these days. she compared the world of film to the world of music. |
“Acting, I just do less of. I’ve acted for 15 years, and it’s very much a filmmakers medium, but I’m hired to give my creative spark to characters and to the script and everything, but it’s a different…it’s a more solitary experience. And you collaborate with it with a group, and music is my complete full creative expression. I dunno. And there’s also the live shows. It’s a huge turn on for me. Each audience is different in what they bring and in the energy.” |
Lewis is not totally giving up her first career. She recently filmed a part for the forthcoming Jennifer Garner movie, “Catch And Release,” which is slated to hit theaters next year. |
Meanwhile, Juliette & The Licks have dates scheduled through November, and Lewis already has ideas for the follow up to You’re Speaking My Language. |
