THE KILLERS AND TIM BURTON COMBINE ON BONES VIDEO
The Killers, currently on a world tour in support of their sophomore release ‘Sams Town,’ have collaborated on their music video for ‘Bones’ with legendary director Tim Burton. Burton who gained respect and world wide admiration for his work in such films as ‘Edward Scissorhands,’ ‘The Nightmare Before Christmas’ and ‘Beetlejuice’ was actually approached by the band who had become big fans of Burton’s work. |
We caught up with drummer Ronnie Vanucci to discuss working with Burton and how the collaboration began. |
“We were all kind of talking about it and we felt like Tim Burton needed to hear this song. So we got a real rough version over to Tim Burton and gave it to him and it turns out he loved it. We just wanted him to hear it and if he wanted to anything with it, for example, make a video he could. That’s what ended up happening. To make a long story short he came up to England and we kind of forgot about it, so he came unannounced and he came by himself and we spent the whole day in the studio just kind of rattling off ideas. We basically said ‘Hey go for it, we love everything you do. We’ve grown up loving your stuff and we’re just lucky to be a part of your art and vision.” |
The Killers are currently touring the world with stops in Europe, America, Mexico, Australia and Japan to name just a few locations. The current tour will last until March 16th in France. Look for the band to announce a new run of tour dates for 2007 shortly. |
