EVA LONGORIA ATTRACTS MACHO MEN

Eva Longoria stars in Harsh Times as a working lawyer who gets fed up with her boyfriend’s slacker mentality and his best friend who she feels is a bad influence. As a Latina herself Eva believes these women stick by their men no matter what. It’s ironic that on the big screen and little screen she can’t escape these types of macho men.

That best friend is played by Christian Bale who is a mastiff in size compared to Eva who is a Chihuahua. Eva says looking back at the confrontational scene where she tells him off was scary but right for the character.

“The men that I work with both in Desperate Housewives and Harsh Times are pretty hard headed and stuck in their ways. I really enjoyed working with Freddy in this film because I felt like he was a guy torn between his girlfriend and best friend. I think every woman can relate to her. Every woman hates her boyfriend, her husband’s best friend.”

Eva had the opportunity to meet the real Sylvia who writer director David Ayer knew as well as the real Mike played by Freddy Rodriguez.

“In the movie Christian and I have this intense scene where she tells me like it is. The scariest thing I have is you with a badge because he wants to become a cop. When I look back at that scene I think what am I doing going toe to toe with Christian Bale. He really scares me but at the same time the character Sylvia would not back down.”

Harsh Times opens today in theaters.

“This was almost his life story. There was a Sylvia in his life. There was a Mike in his life. We got to character study these true people who are living. I met Sylvia who is a pro bono lawyer now in East L.A. giving back to her community and Mike who is this loser that Freddy studied.”
