OK GO AMAZES JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE WITH IN-SYNCH TREADMILL VIDEO

OK Go’s homemade clip for “Here It Goes Again,” featuring the band on treadmills has caught the attention and imagination not only of fans, but of their peers. The band recently brought the house down at the 2006 MTV Video Music Awards, but even before their live performance on treadmills, their song and their eye-popping video has made them celebrities among their musical peers.

Justin Timberlake, who opened the show, was almost star-struck when meeting the OK Go entourage, and Damian Kulash told us he was surprised by Timberlake’s reaction.

“Justin Timberlake during his dress rehearsal came over to where we were sitting. He was on a catwalk right in front of where we were sitting waiting to do our dress rehearsal. He leaned down and pulled his in-ear monitors out, dropped the microphone, looked straight at Tim and goes, ‘You guys are f–kin’ incredible. I love your f–kin’ video!’ And to have… Like there’s a wall between the rest of humanity and Justin Timberlake. Justin Timberlake — like we were saying about P.Diddy before..excuse me Diddy…they’re these monstrous media creations that you believe don’t actually exist in some way. You never expect to see those people face to face, and you certainly don’t expect them to recognize you as another human being and comment on your work. So it was really, really a brain fry to see him address us as other human beings.”

The video has only been on YouTube, a video sharing site for two weeks, and already it’s in the top ten all-time. It’s also popular on Google Video and of course it’s being played on VH1, MTV, and other outlets. The song itself has been added to the rotation on the influential KROQ radio station in Los Angeles CA.
