The Fox and The Hound 2 is an animated musical about the bonds of friendship, available on DVD. |
The unlikeliest pair in the forest are at it again in the Fox and The Hound 2, an animated musical now on DVD. This time the friendship of Tod the fox and Copper the hound is put to the test when Copper gets invited to join a pack of hound dog howlers. |
Patrick Swayze who voices the leader of the pack hound dog Cash says he can relate to his canine qualities. |
“He thinks he’s pretty cool. He’s basically trying to be the boss but he really loves everybody and he’s everybody’s friend. Sort of like I am. I’m like a loyal dog. I’ve been loyal to a fault so I try to bring things of Patrick into Cash to where I have to be a boss but I’m not really good at being a boss so I kind of overcompensate sometimes try too hard, but I’m really a mush inside.” |
Cash is in love with Dixie the lead singing hound dog voiced by Reba McEntire. Reba says the songs in the film enhance the story. |
“The songs Good Doggy No Bone that tells exactly where Dixie is in the situation. And We Go Together, I mean that does show that at the end everybody’s joining together becoming friends and they are where they need to be in their lives. Tod and Copper stay at home and they’re best of friends and then the singing group goes on and keeps touring. And so I think the songs really enhance the story.” |
Original music for Fox and The Hound 2 was written by Trisha Yearwood. Bonus materials include the making of the music, and the music video You Know I Will performed and written by High School Musical star Lucas Grabeel. |
