KATE WINSLET TAKES TO THE SEWERS IN FLUSHED AWAY
Sir Ian McKellen once a wizard in Lord of The Rings is now lord of the sewers in Flushed Away. McKellen is the voice of Toad, the once and maybe not so future king of London’s underground disposal system in the animated film. |
Spike and Whitey, Toad’s dirty rat henchman voiced by Andy Serkis and Bill Nighy are practically useless at getting the job done when it comes to defending his porcelain throne. |
“He is the lord of the sewers. This guy runs another London underneath the sidewalks and streets and the sewers where he is the controller of all things, he would like to think but of course he gets thwarted in his dreadful aims by the hero of Flushed Away.” |
Next Ian will use just his voice again in the upcoming British sci-fi action adventure Displaced. Flushed Away opens Friday in theaters. |
“They’re two rapscallions and useless at their job and Toad has to shout at them a great deal and even then they don’t get it right. They’re useless henchman. I don’t know why they didn’t get some decent toads. He said himself if you want a job done well get an amphibian to do it but he doesn’t so partly because of that incompetence his major plans go awry.” |
