The holidays are notoriously a time many artists and bands are on a hiatus from touring and recording so they can be with their families after a long year away from home. We caught up with 2007 Grammy Nominees James Blunt, KT Tunstall and former Grammy winner Amy Lee to find out how they’ll be spending their holidays and if they are looking forward to some much needed time away from their tedious work schedules. |
KT Tunstall, who was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance for her song ‘Black Horse and the Cherry Tree’ can’t wait to get back home to drink some whiskey with her dad. |
“This year, I’m taking Christmas off and I’m going to go drink whiskey with my Dad.” |
James Blunt who is was nominated for multiple Grammy Awards including Best New Artist and Best Male Pop Vocal Performance for his hit single ‘You’re Beautiful’ can’t wait to head back to England to see his family and friends after two solid years of touring in support of his smash debut release Back to Bedlam. |
“Yeah, I should go home really and clock in with my parents and some friends.” |
Amy Lee, having just released an album with her band Evanescence which will be up for Grammy consideration next year, will look to get back home for a good old fashioned country Christmas with her family. |
“I’m going to go home and hang out with my family and just have a normal down home country Christmas.” |
The 49th Annual Grammy Awards will take place February 11th on CBS and some of the artists who garnered multiple nominations are Mary J. Blige with eight nominations, The Red Hot Chili Peppers with six, James Blunt, the Dixie Chicks, John Mayer, Danger Mouse, Prince, Rick Rubin, and will.i.am each earned five nods. Beyonce, Bryan-Michael Cox, Gnarls Barkley, Israel Houghton, Ludacris, T.I., Justin Timberlake and John Williams receive four each. |
