Houston-based rapper Chamillionaire is back with his sophomore set, Ultimate Victory, which he will release this spring. The first single, “Not A Criminal,” was produced by Styalz Fuego and features Kelis. Chamillionaire said in a released statement, “People treat you like you committed a crime when you speak the truth about what’s really on your mind. People act like its wrong to have an opinion about things especially when your views are different than theirs. I feel like setting the goal to be a successful entrepreneur should be looked at as a good thing and should not come with all the unnecessary hate and resistance.” |
Chamillionaire has also decided to retire his diamond grills. He said, “I need people to pay attention to what I have to say, instead of just staring at my mouth. I speak with a purpose and definitely want people to know that I’m not just some rapper with diamonds in his mouth. As soon as they get past the materialistic stuff and listen to the message on my album then I will feel like I have won.” |
“Just try to make you know a real creative, lyrical, witty, southern album, you know what I’m sayin’, like that walks that line between commercial and street. Cause some people make an album that’s too street and the majors don’t want to mess with it and it don’t go nowhere. Some people make an album that’s too commercial and the street’s be like, ‘Man get out of here man,’ you know what I’m sayin’?” |
The new album will feature production by Three Six Mafia, Rick Rock, Play N Skillz, The Runners, JR Rotem, Kane Beatz, The Beat Bullies, Happy P, Disco D, and Ike Dirty with guest appearances by Busta Rhymes, Lil Wayne, Pimp C, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, Slick Rick, and Devin The Dude. |
