DIDDY PROTEGE FACING ROBBERY CHARGES

Rapper Young City, formerly of Bad Boy’s Da Band and MTV’s Making The Band 2, is due in Baltimore Circuit Court on December 4th for the start of the rapper’s burglary trial. Authorities took the rapper, whose real name is Kevin Barnes, into custody after an outstanding armed robbery warrant came up when they ran his license last August during a traffic stop in Atlanta. |
Barnes, who is out on $75,000 bail, is facing seven charges including two counts of robbery and assault. He allegedly robbed two men at gunpoint at the age of 16 in Baltimore. Barnes’ lawyer, Paul Gardner of Gardner Law Group, explained that “the dangerous weapon was in fact a BB gun”. |
“Me and Chopper did a movie together. It’s called ‘The Ya Da Da Movie.’ That should be coming out in December, right to like DVD, Blockbuster and all that. It’s gonna be a comedy. It had Rude Jude in it, Who else? Of course Chopper and me. E-40 made an appearance. It’s gonna be a little cute movie.” |

Chopper isn’t the first former Bad Boy star to run into legal trouble. Rapper Jamal “Shyne” Barrow is currently serving a ten year assault prison sentence while rapper Black Rob is serving a seven year sentence for theft. |
