LUC BESSON BECOMES A MINIMOY IN ARTHUR AND THE INVISIBLES
To his children’s delight, director Luc Besson turns into a minimoy at the end of Arthur and The Invisibles. |
Don’t rush out of Arthur & The Invisibles when it ends because there is a surprise appearance while the credits roll. |
Director Luc Besson and his animation team came up with a unique way of introducing the cast and the characters they played to the delight of his children. |
“It’s funny because it’s a last minute idea. We have this idea of each character coming and salute the audience. And at the last moment I said, ‘you know I should put myself into a Minimoy’ so it was just kind of an internal joke. So I appear at the end with big ears but you should see the face of my kid, my own kids when they watched the film. At the end they say, ‘that’s daddy!’ Because I didn’t tell them before so it was very funny.” |
Luc says the Minimoy action figures are already in the works and even he is excited about getting them. |
“There are some licenses, yeah from people around the world. But you know what I love that in fact because I remember when I was a kid and I’d watch a film you’d want to continue the film at home. At the time there’s no DVD so if you have the toy or something it was great. You can play at home forever.” |
There is also an Arthur & The Invisibles video game based on the film where each character Arthur, Selenia and Betameche has their own special powers for players to act out in their own heroic missions. |
