SHINEDOWN WILLING TO WORK
Shinedown’s album Us And Them was relased early on in 2005, and the band has been on the road supporting the record by opening for 3 Doors Down, playing headline shows and fronting the Sno-Core tour. The band said they want to reach out to fans and make new fans by any means necessary. |
Vocalist Brent Smith talked about the band’s effort to get into the mainstream public’s consciousness. |
“As far as TV apperances and getting the band out there, for this record definitely that’s the focus. The first record was built on touring relentlessly and the relationships we’ve built with radio. We will never, ever go away from that because that’s where we found a foundation. But as far as showing visually what this band is, that’s the goal with this record. And showing more of who we are and letting the world decide whether or not they want us to be part of their world. As far as anything we can do, we’re going to do any and everything we can. We’re not going to say, ‘no.'” |
Most of that approach can be focused on their relentless touring schedule, and Smith said Shinedown feels most at home on tour. |
“I mean, to be back out on the road is… This band thrives off being on the road and thrives off our fans. So it just feels a lot more — I guess the best word is confortable. When you’re put in a studio you’re put in an environment where the most miniscule thing can mean so much, but when you’re out on the road it gives you an opportunity not only to be an artist and connect with the fans, but to reinvent who you are on a daily basis.” |
Shinedown is having success on two separate formats with “Save Me” in the Top 5 at Rock radio and “I Dare You” moving into the Alternative Top 20. |
