LUDACRIS WANTS TO DEAL WITH DEATH OF HIS FATHER PRIVATELY

Grammy Award winning rapper Ludacris dedicated his best rap album Grammy win to his dad, Wayne Brian Bridges, earlier this month and noted that his dad was fighting for his life. Wayne Bridges died in an Atlanta hospital on Sunday (February 25th), after a long illness. The family would like to keep the cause of death private for the time being. Bridges, who was 52 years old, appeared in his son’s “Grew Up A Screw Up” video last year and worked closely with the Ludacris Foundation. |
The Bridges said in a released statement, “We are overwhelmed by the generous outpouring of love, condolences and support from family members, friends, fans and the many well-wishers. We thank you for your prayers and hope you will understand our need for privacy during this sorrowful time.” |
“Earth, Wind & Fire they were just as much a fan of my music as I was of theirs. And I’m sure a lot of you noticed I mentioned my father when I was on stage. When I won my award tonight and my father is the reason why I have a lot of musical abilities that I have and a lot of the musical influences because when I was very young he used to play a lot of different genres of music. And one of his favorite groups was Earth, Wind & Fire so it made a connection tonight and I wa svery happy to be able to work with them.” |
At the Grammys, Ludacris performed with his Earth, Wind, & Fire and he explained how his father introduced him to the group as a child. He said, |
