WEILAND MOONLIGHTING ON VELVET REVOLVER
(VIDEO) Scott Weiland says he’s working hard on his solo album… from home. |
Scott Weiland is moonlighting on his band Velvet Revolver, but it’s actually a good thing. Weiland is working on his first solo album since 12 Bar Blues, which was released back in the late ’90s. Weiland already recorded about 30 songs for the effort. |
Weiland recorded a song with hip-hop’s Pharrell, and he told us he already has a label deal lined up. |
“I’ll probably put it out through my, possibly put it out through my own label, but I’m not sure whether it will come out through RCA or through my own label. I have a label deal now through Red Distribution, which actually is… Red is through SonyBMG which is part of RCA, RCA is part of SonyBMG. It’s all part of the same family.” |
Weiland, who has been working his second job from home, talked about his expectations for the album. |
“You know I don’t really set expectations. I think that my expectations, creatively, are extremely huge. I know that there are a lot of musical fans out there, a lot of my fans who have wanted me to make another record for a long time. I have my own recording studio, so I’ve been writing and recording songs for a long time and have probably upwards of 30 songs recorded. So I’ll whittle that down to 15 and put ’em out.” |
Velvet Revolver has about 10 songs done for the album, and they recently recorded a brand new song for the animated film Monster House. |
