The Game is currently in talks with Interscope Records to re-negotiate his deal. While the rapper will continue to record for Dr. Dre’s Aftermath label, The Game is in the process of negotiating a distribution deal for his Black Wall Street label. |
The Game has had a change of heart because initially he wasn’t so keen on the idea of bringing his Black Wall Street label to Interscope Records because of his tension with his former mentor 50 Cent who happens to be one of the label’s best selling artists. The Game was also concerned that if he angered executives at Interscope Records they could turn around and take it out on his artists. |
“First of all, you know on the musician side, I recently signed Charli Baltimore, man, who I think is one of the dopest female MCs in hip hop that’s been slept on and hasn’t been given a fair opportunity man. I got a kid out of Long Beach. I mean the hometown of Snoop Dogg man by the name of Beachboy man. The kid is crazy man. And I got a kid from Philly named Rockstar. Another one of my homies from, named Eastwood who used to be down with Death Row man. And you know I got Nu Jersey Devil who is my best producer man. You know he’s producing tracks for the new album.” |
The rapper recently shared who he’s signed to the label so far. He said, |
The Game is currently working on his sophomore album, The Doctor’s Advocate, which will be released late this summer. The album will feature the production of Dr. Dre, Kanye West, Timbaland, Scott Storch, Just Blaze, and Cool & Dre who produced the rapper’s biggest hit to date, “Hate It or Love It” featuring 50 Cent. |
