Common shoots video for new single, “The Game.” Kanye West makes cameo in video.

Rapper and actor Common recently shot the video for his new single, “The Game,” from his forthcoming album, Finding Forever, which hits stores in July. The song was produced by Kanye West and features scratches by DJ Premier. Finding Forever will also include collaborations with Lily Allen, D’Angelo, Kanye West, the late J Dilla, Will.I.Am, Bilal, and Dwele.

In related news, Common made his big screen debut in Smokin Aces earlier this year. Next up he will star opposite Denzel Washington and Russell Crowe in American Gangster which hits theaters later this year. Common has also landed two new roles. One in the Wanted which will also star Morgan Freeman and Angelina Jolie and another in The Night Watchman with Keanu Reeves and Forest Whitaker.

“Reading scripts and going in on auditions, you know yeah man I’mma actor. When people say, ‘What do you think about rappers turn actors?’ I be like, ‘Look I’m an artist so I create music. I’m a new actor too.’ You know like I’m starting from….Yeah sometime I get my foot in the door to meet somebody because I’m Common but they not gonna give me a job just cause I’m Common. That’s just not gonna happen.”
