DJ QUALLS SHOWS UP FOR DUTY IN DELTA FARCE
DJ Qualls stars in Delta Farce as a bumbling ex-police officer turned Army reservist. |
Hustle and Flow star DJ Qualls joins Larry The Cable Guy and Bill Engvall in Delta Farce, the story of three buddies who’d rather be eating chicken wings and drinking beer than face their call of duty. |
DJ describes his character. |
“I play Everett and he is a former law enforcement officer so he has that sort of cop mentality. And so he says things like, ‘on the ground now!’ That’s kind of the way he talks. This is his—oh I can’t say wet dream. This is sort of his lifelong ambition to be in a position of power and to shoot at people so he’s in heaven.” |
DJ’s parents were in heaven when he told them he’d be working with Larry The Cable Guy which impressed them more than his previous projects with Academy Award winners. |
“My parents were over the moon. Like I’ve worked with Hilary Swank and like Alfre Woodard and Stanley Tucci a couple of times and they were like, ‘ah I don’t care.’ I said I’m working with Larry The Cable Guy and my dad was like, ‘are you serious? You’re working with Larry The Cable Guy. We tried to see him in Knoxville and those tickets cost 85 dollars, 85 dollars!’ So they’ve never been more excited or happy.” |
DJ’s parents should have no problem getting tickets now. Wonder if they’d be just as impressed by his next co-star Shawn Hatosy playing his brother in Familiar Strangers. |
