ALEC BALDWIN LOVES SHOOTING IN NEW YORK
Alec Baldwin enjoys shooting in New York which is one of the reasons why he made Brooklyn Rules. |
Alec Baldwin was immediately interested in the role of the mob boss in Brooklyn Rules because the script was written by Sopranos scribe Terence Winter. Alec is a fan of the HBO hit now in it’s final season, but the New York born actor also couldn’t pass up the opportunity to shoot in his home town. |
Despite the noise and the traffic Alec says filming on location in New York rules. |
“You have to contend with the buses and the trucks and the Vespas and the train. Let’s have a quick whip down to the grate. There you go the train is right down there, back to me. And the problem in New York is that New York is tough to shoot in, but at the same time New York is a very singular kind of experience and whenever people suggest to me that I’m gonna shoot a film in New York I get excited because there are some real possibilities there.” |
Alec was also excited to work with his co-star Freddie Prinze, Jr. He says Freddie has the chops for a dramatic leading man. |
“Another reason that I really wanted to work on this film was because I’m a big fan of Freddie Prinze, Jr. I’ve seen Freddie in a number of films, mostly romantic comedies but I always knew he had a great quality to be a dramatic leading man. I mean Freddie; he’s a tall, good-looking, smart, very intense guy. He has everything you could possibly hope for to play really tough leading roles in films, complicated leading roles for young actors in films. That was also a great pleasure in doing the film because I got to work with Freddie who was everything I hoped he’d be.” |
New York is also the home of 30 Rock, the NBC sitcom where Alec steals the show as G.E. president Jack Donaghy. Brooklyn Rules also stars Scott Caan as Alec’s gangster in training and Entourage star Jerry Ferrara. |
