Rapper Consequence released his debut solo album, Don’t Quit Your Day Job, in March and the set has sold approximately 25,000 copies since its release. The rapper can expect an increase in sales as his latest single, “Don’t Forget ‘Em,” continues to climb the charts. Consequence recently released a Bernard Gourley-directed video for the song.

Consequence explained that it took him over a year-and-a-half to record his debut because of his touring schedule with Kanye West. The rapper said,

“I got my deal, I was still on tour actually, we was on the Usher tour. And then you know we had to go through the whole negotiations and whatever. I put out ‘Take ‘Em To The Cleaners’ in the meantime which was an independent album I had come out on Sure Shot. Then you know like I guess that summer was like ’05, I really started going in. Then we went back out on tour, Touch The Sky tour, cause Late Registration had came out. And then last year I was just, I was going in and I was working hard. I had a lot of mountains to climb but I got over them.”
