Joe covers Carrie Underwood’s country smash, “Before He Cheats”…….

R&B singer Joe recently covered Carrie Underwood’s smash country hit, “Before He Cheats.” The singer added a male perspective to one of the year’s biggest hits. A clip of the singer performing the song is currently available online. The cover of “Before He Cheats” isn’t included on Joe’s latest album, Ain’t Nothing Like Me, which debuted at Number One on the Billboard R&B/Rap albums chart last month. The latest single from the project is “If I Was Your Man.”

Joe recently shared his thoughts on the lack of originality in R&B music and the fact that people seem content to recycle the same music over and over again. He said,

“You see that comes back to live music. You know when they was doing music back then they had bands. You know nowadays it’s all about keyboards, you know drum machines, you know doing a four-part loop and singing and rapping on top of it. Back then you had musicians who had families, so when you heard the bassline that bassline came from the heart. They had to play that so they could get the next job so they played that to the best they could play it. They wanted to feel it. They was a part of it. They felt a part of the record. It’s a lot different now. The only way it’s gonna go back there is we have to go back to live music.”

In related news, Joe is scheduled to launch a Japanese tour in August. The singer will perform several shows in Fukuoka, Tokyo, and Osaka.
