W.C. set to drop new album through Ice Cube’s Lench Mob Records….. |
Westside Connection member W.C. is back with a new album, Guilty By Affiliation, which he will release on August 14th on Ice Cube’s Lench Mob Records label. Ice Cube will serve as executive producer of the project. The first single from the set is “This Is Los Angeles.” |
W.C. began his career in 1989 with the release of We’re In This Thing Together as a member of Low Profile. Later on W.C. formed the Maad Circle which also featured rapper Coolio. In 1998, he released his solo debut, The Shadiest One. The rapper’s last solo release was Ghetto Heisman which was released in 2002 through Def Jam Records. |
“There ain’t no such thing as gangsta rap. I mean we just ran with it because that’s what everybody says it was. Originally when you know cats started off back in the days, everybody called it reality rap. I mean you got to look at what’s gangsta in your own terms. You know just creating your own way and going against the rules and regulations that was put out here in order for us to make it. And that’s basically all the cats they be putting inside the gangsta rap categorey, the cats that was just rebels out here doing their own thing. What’s next for so called gangsta rap? I really couldn’t tell you that. I just want everybody out here, all bulls**t aside, just to start you know focusing on the music. Let’s take it back to real good music ya’ll on the real, you know?” |
