LAUREN GRAHAM GETS CLOSE TO THE ANIMALS

Evan Almighty star Lauren Graham enjoyed getting close to the animals in the ark.

Lauren Graham stars in Evan Almighty as the wife of Steve Carell, newly elected to congress from his newscaster position in Bruce Almighty who receives a message from God asking him to build an ark in preparation for a flood.

What the star of The Gilmore Girls enjoyed most about the role was getting up close and personal with the animals.

“I think my favorite animals were elephants because they’re so smart and they really have beautiful faces. You don’t get to see animals this exotic close up very often and it was just interesting to watch them work. Because they’re working and it’s amazing to see what they know how to do. Just all these trainers who work with them are really talented. Just the whole world, every level of this movie there are people who are at the best at what they do and that’s always an interesting thing to be around.”

Lauren says it was strange to have these exotic creatures milling about the movie set like they belonged there.

“I’d never seen a bison up close. I’d never seen alpacas, llamas and the giraffes were also really beautiful. And you’d just drink your coffee and you’d see them walking across the street. It was bizarre.”

Evan Almighty which also stars Morgan Freeman and Wanda Sykes opens Friday in theaters.
