STONE SOUR READY SPECIAL EDITION OF COME WHAT(EVER) MAY
Stone Sour is set to release a special edition CD/DVD package of their Gold-Certified album, Come What(ever) May |
Stone Sour are set to release a special, enhanced edition of their Gold-Certified album Come What(ever) May on Roadrunner Records this June 26. The special edition CD/DVD package is jam-packed with extensive bonus material, six previously unreleased and unavailable tracks, and a live DVD which includes a full concert performance filmed in October 2006 in Moscow at the RAMP awards, which was their first and only visit to Russia. Besides the full concert, the bonus DVD also features all four music videos from Come What(ever) May: “30/30-150,” “Through Glass,” “Sillyworld” and the band’s latest video “Made of Scars.” |
We caught up with Corey Taylor and Jim Root of Stone Sour and the ground breaking metal band Slipknot as well, to discuss the upcoming special edition CD/DVD package. |
“There’s a special edition DigiPak that’s coming out with six extra songs and a DVD which has a live concert form Moscow which was off the hook actually and all the videos that we’ve done so far for this album. We didn’t want to do the standard weak DigiPak, we really wanted to do something that was really cool, so putting those extra songs on there and putting a real DVD together and being able to put that out there it definitely shows not only the different musical sides to the band but it also shows us in a live element which is one of the things that people really gravitate towards. Even sitting in the shadow of Slipknot we hold our own. We throw down and we’re very good at what we do.” |
Corey Taylor talked about one of the more intriguing never before released songs on the upcoming special edition CD, which is a live cover version of ‘Wicked Game’ by Chris Isaak. |
“There’s an acoustic rendition of “Wicked Game” that we had actually gone into a studio in Vancouver, Me, Jim and Josh and we recorded an acoustic version of that song and it came out really good. We did it all live since we were doing it in front of an audience and something about that was really magical and it came out really well. It did really well on Canadian radio, surprisingly. It was crazy! So we just thought, you know what we’ll throw it on the DigiPak and just see what happens.” |
Stone Sour’s new video for “Made of Scars” will debut June 2nd on MTV2’s Headbanger’s Ball. The shows airs Saturday at 10 PM EST. Stone Sour are currently touring Europe, however due to an unexpected family obligation, the band has been forced to pull out of the last four shows on their upcoming European tour; June 30th in Sweden until July 6th in Finland. Check the Stone Sour website for further information on make up dates. |
