SAM ROCKWELL RESPECTS PARENTS
Confessions of a Dangerous Mind star Sam Rockwell and The Departed star Vera Farmiga play the parents of Joshua, a nine year-old who is a bit of an eccentric in a Dr. Spock kind of way. |
Sam is not a parent in real life but he came to deeply admire how difficult it is to raise kids. |
“This film captures hopefully what it’s like to raise a kid. It’s not easy. Parents really they should get a medal for a lot of stuff they go through with these kids so hopefully if we capture that right people will identify with it.” |
Everyone can identify with sibling jealousy and in Joshua when his newborn sister comes into the family, his eccentricities take a sinister turn. |
“Well hopefully they’ll be creeped out and scared and question all their beliefs and get nightmares. Let’s hope that will happen. And hopefully all the parents will want to be better parents when they see the movie and all the children will want to be better children. And everybody will get along.” |
Joshua opens Friday in theaters.rn |
