LORDS OF THE UNDERGROUND ARE BACK
New Jersey based rap trio, Lords of The Underground, will release their first album in eight years, House of Lords, on August 21st. The album features production by Marley Marl, Lord Jazz, and Ninth Wonder. While the group hasn’t released any new music in years, they’ve conitnued to tour regularly. Their 2006 30-date European tour was captured for DVD titled, Still LOTUG, which will hit stores in September. |
Group member Doitall shared that he doesn’t see the group’s new album as a comeback. He said, |
“Like for me I don’t look at it as a comeback because like I feel like I’m part of hip hop, you know what I mean? And it’s just personally like I feel like I’m part of hip hop. I live the culture everyday. I eat the culutre. Just like Funk said in ‘Chief Rocka,’ ‘You know we live for the funk. Sleep for the funk.’ All that, you know, replace that word funk with hip hop man.” |
