NO RESERVATIONS STARS DISH AT NEW YORK PREMIERE
Add the gorgeous Catherine Zeta-Jones as the head chef of a five star restaurant with the hunky Aaron Eckhart as a rising culinary star who threatens to take over her kitchen and you get a tasty recipe for the film No Reservations. |
The two stars mixed it up at the premiere in New York where they talked about how they became masters at preparing the savory dishes you see in the film. Catherine says she’d had enough of the pungent smells by day four. |
“It was just the seven o’clock of dressing of fish thing that did me in. The first few days of shooting the movie it was like, ‘ooh lovely lets get some pasta for lunch,’ and the chefs would cook me up something to keep me going throughout the day and by the third day, fourth day it’s like, ‘if I have to smell one more thing I’m gonna throw up.’” |
Aaron who became very proficient chopping and dicing with the help of Fiama Chef Michael White describes how he managed to keep his fingers safe, well almost. |
“Chopping I really got enthusiastic about because it’s a skill that can be mastered. I can see how to do it and it just takes practice. If I say to somebody I’m gonna be a chef for the movie the first thing they say is, ‘can you chop?’ So that’s the mark of somebody who lives in the kitchen. And I thought that was the most important thing to master. And it’s like vacuuming or ironing your shirt. It’s like a therapeutic exercise too because it’s mindless. You can sit there and do it, feel good about it, do other things. Oh yeah I cut myself plenty. Every day I cut myself. But the knives are so sharp that it’s a clean cut. That’s why I’m told. Everybody’s like, ‘don’t worry about it, it’s a clean cut.’ I’m like, ‘not with my knives.’” |
No Reservations which is directed by Scott Hicks and also stars Abigail Breslin opens Friday in theaters.rn |
