TOP CHEFS SHOW NO RESERVATION STARS AROUND THE KITCHEN
The best chefs in New York taught the stars of No Reservations their way around the kitchen. |
Movies involving food are getting smarter these days. You can’t just put a white apron on an actor and expect them to whip up a gourmet meal so that’s where the top chefs came into play for No Reservations. |
The best cooks in the business were brought in to consult and teach Catherine Zeta-Jones and Aaron Eckhart the flow of the kitchen. Fiamma head chef Michael White taught Zeta-Jones how to sauté and sauce like a real chef, and Eckhart how to chop and dice veggies. |
“Oh Aaron for sure chopping. He had his chopping skills down that’s for sure. And for Catherine is was a lot of saucing and learning how to use finishing salt and putting plates onto the pass. What a chef does, takes it out of the window, inspects it, makes sure it’s OK and send it out to the guest.” |
French Culinary Institute chef Lee Anne Wong taught Abigail Breslin her way around the kitchen. |
“She was just great to work with. She’s very mature and sophisticated and she’s a very bright fun little girl and she was fantastic. We came in, we got her a little step stool because she couldn’t reach the stove. I forgot what it’s like to teach kids how to cook. She needed two hands to actually flip the pancakes. We taught her how to make soup. She made soup for her grandmother. And we also peeled vegetables together. We sat her up on the counter and peeled vegetables together.” |
No Reservations had the best tasting props. Approximately 25 items were pre prepared for the film with daily deliveries of fresh lobsters, sea bass and exotic produce used to give the on-camera meals their mouth watering appeal. |
