MATT DAMON NOT BORN TO BE A SPY
Matt Damon doesn’t have what it takes to be a spy in real life, but he can play one as Jason Bourne. |
Matt Damon returns to the world of espionage to complete the trilogy of Jason Bourne’s quest for identity in The Bourne Ultimatum. |
Matt was a big fan of the Jason Bourne novels by Robert Ludlum but never thought he was right for the role as he was written on the page, especially knowing he would fail miserably as a secret agent. |
“I don’t think I would be a very good spy. I’m not very good with secrets. I tend to have a pretty open line of communication with everyone in my life so if you tell me something it’s going right out to our little group of friends. I think I’m a really easy target to track. Ben Affleck and I were on vacation and the first day we tried surfing there were these guys hiding in the shrubs taking our picture. We were like how the hell did you find us? How did you know we were here. We were on this beach and the only people on this beach and these guys are hiding in the shrubbery. If the paparazzi can find me that easily I’m sure the folks at CIA wouldn’t have much trouble tracking me down.” |
Damon says this is the final chapter where Jason gets to meet his maker. |
“The reason for us to do a third movie is to resolve all of the outstanding issues. Primarily his quest for identity is resolved at the end of it, at the end of this one. And so he finally basically meets his maker which is how we talked about it. He gets back to the very beginning to how he was trained, the behavior modification, absolutely everything that went into making him Jason Bourne.” |
The Bourne Ultimatum also starring Julia Stiles opens Friday in theaters. |
