MYA KEEPING BUSY DURING ALBUM DELAYS

Mya is keeping busy despite several album delays…..

Mya’s new album, Liberation, has been delayed several times. The singer released a single, “Lock U Down” featuring Lil Wayne, which failed to make an impact on radio so executives have pushed the project back yet again to a September 18th release date. The singer is taking the delays in stride by keeping busy with other projects including working on a new film titled, Covers.

The singer is also spending her time this summer teaching at Mya Arts & Technology Foundation in Washington, DC, which was established in 2005 to provide education in the arts for inner city and suburban youth. The Foundation also provides leadership and mentoring for the local youth community.

“I’ve also been able on this album to define my own definition of success. And sometimes that’s not always about being the most popular girl and I know a lot of girls feel that way or teenagers and women. But it’s about yourself at the end of the day on a serious tip. Some of the songs on the album reflect that.”

Mya shared that working on the new album helped shape her leadership skills and to truly define success. The singer said,
