KANDI BURRESS AND RASHEEDA WORKING ON GROUP PROJECT
Rasheeda and R&B singer Kandi Burress, formerly of Xscape, are working on a project together as PeachCandy. The duo have been performing in Atlanta and our gearing up for the release of their official lead single, “Bam,” which was produced by Don Vito. The duo will release a full length album later this year. |
Burress, who has become a highly decorated song writer recently explained why an attempted reunion wtih her former group, Xscape, was derailed. The singer said, |
“They talked to me about doing another Xscape reunion. But that really wasn’t….I told them I was considering it if I could write a lot more songs on the album or have creative control. I felt like…They weren’t doing the album with Jermaine. Xscape’s album was based off of Jermaine doing the production and he guided the record. If there was nobody guiding the record I felt like you know I would like to have more input. But they didn’t want me to have any more input then they did. But I was like….No disrespect to them but I just felt like you know this is what I do, I write songs for other people why can’t I write songs for my own group. So they was like if you don’t want to do it like we want to do it then you can do what you ant to do. Bump you basically. I was like oh well.” |
