AFI RHYTHM SECTION TALKS ABOUT DAVEY AND JADE CEXCELLS
A.F.I.’s Davey Havok and Jade Puget have formed the side-project Blaqk Audio, and we asked AFI’s rhythm section about not being on the project. |
AFI’s vocalist Davey and guitar player Jade have formed a side-band titled Blaqk Audio, and their debut release, CexCells hits stores on August 14. The duo worked on the project during some time off from AFI’s Decemberunderground tour. The project delves into more of an electronic atmosphere that continues the direction of electronic music the band had been exploring. |
We asked the other half of AFI, bassist Hunter and drummer Adam, their thoughts of their bandmates creating music without them. |
“Yeah… No, I’ve always had side projects so it’s a good opportunity to do something outside of the band.” |
So do they have any plans in the works? |
[Hunter] “[playfully as a drug dealer] “Yeah, I got some stuff… I’ve got some cheap stuff I can sell… I have a couple of projects I’m working on. I’ve got a thing with Tegan from Tegan And Sarah that we’re finishing up. A lot of AFI writing.” [Adam] “It’s time for me to hit the woodshed and start to become a better drummer. That’s what I do. It’s kind of my time to go back to studying music on my own… moving right along.” |
AFI played Live Earth at Giants Stadium as part of a series of worldwide concerts on July 7. MSN claims it’s the largest mass concert in history. Meanwhile, there is no tour dates for the Depeche Mode influenced project. |
