9TH WONDER WORKING ON SOLO PROJECT

Former Little Brother group member 9th Wonder is hard at work on a new solo project. The producer will release his official debut album, Dream Merchant, Vol. 2, on October 9th. The album features guest appearances by Saigon, Royce 5’9, Mos Def, Memphis Bleek, Jean Grae, Camp Lo, Buckshot, Sean Price, Skyzoo, Torae, Joe Scudda, Kidz In The Hall’s Naledge and Little Brother.

In related news, Little Brother, which is now a duo consisting of Phonte and Big Pooh, will release their new album, Get Back, on September 25th on ABB Records. The group was able to secure a release from Atlantic Records.

“Nowadays in hip hop it’s like instead of blackening it up, the new black face is rims or jewelry and cars and spinning and guns, you know. It’s like, you know what I’m sayin’? So it’s like and the thing about it is that cats…that’s what they think they have to do in order to make it. They think they have to blacken up in order to make it. And really you don’t need all that. It’s like these labels and this industry got cats scared to be themselves, you know what I’m sayin’?”
